We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team in the Gold Coast South area, providing in-home support to individuals with diverse needs. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping clients achieve their goals and maintain their independence.
The ideal candidate will be located in the suburbs of Burleigh Heads, Surfers Paradise, and Palm Beach, and will be willing to travel to support clients in their homes. You will be working with a client who requires assistance with domestic tasks, including cooking, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a person-centred approach.
This is a casual position, offering flexible working hours tailored to your lifestyle. You will be working between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and will have the opportunity to work independently while being supported by a dedicated leadership team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients to improve their independence, including domestic assistance, meal preparation, skill development, and personal care.
- Provide community connections support, including social support, shopping assistance, and establishing a rapport with clients and their families.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or similar) is required.
- Australian Driver's Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Blue Card is required.
- Excellent organisational skills, hygiene practices, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment).
- Work independently while being supported by a dedicated leadership team.
- Simple and easy-to-use technology to record your timesheets and kilometres.
- Supported career development with opportunities to learn and take on new challenges.
- Frameworks and policies in place providing clear guidelines and support.
- Casual hourly rate from $40.26 per hour + Super + 92 cents per kilometre.
- Receive up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax-free through salary packaging benefits.
- Be paid for two full days to complete your induction.
- Development and progression opportunities nationally.
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check. To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate.
