Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Machinist to join our team at Standard Aero, Inc. As a key member of our Repair Line team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality machining services to support our aviation clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machining and Repair: Machining of previously manufactured parts to restore specific features to acceptable limits, in accordance with repair process documentation.
  • Engineering Support: Assist with engineering the creation of repair work scopes, including sequence of operations and tooling requirements.
  • Tooling and Fixture Manufacturing: Manufacturing of tooling, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with detailed manufacturing drawings.
  • Component Manufacturing: Manufacture of small components, such as sleeves, in accordance with detail parts drawings.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping: Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of machines, and ensure work areas are maintained clean and free of chips and machine cuttings.
  • Tool Control: Ensure tool control is maintained as per procedures, including equipment asset inventory.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all departments at all levels.
  • Coating and Finishing: Prepare components for protective coatings, including blasting, de-greasing, and masking.
  • Documentation and Quality Control: Oversee and ensure all documentation is signed off/stamped as tasks are completed progressively.
  • Professional Development: Seek opportunities to increase personal effectiveness, planning, development, and training with your supervisor.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in a manual machinist role.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of geometric tolerance, ability to read and understand a CMM report, proficiency in the use of standard measuring instruments, and ability to understand and use all applicable documentation.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-starter, quick learner, strong focus on workplace health and safety, and ability to work in a team environment.
