About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Market Analyst to join our team at ENGIE, a global energy company. As a Senior Market Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing analysis, commercial insights, and outlooks that drive strategic decision-making across our business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external consultants and communicate outputs of long-term price modelling to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants on long-term price models, ensuring alignment with ENGIE's views.
  • Manage, document, and lead the development of internal assumptions used in a variety of scenarios in ENGIE's long-term modelling.
  • Collaborate with global business units in the development of corporate strategies for ENGIE and represent the Australian perspective in global discussions and decision-making processes as needed.
  • Digest key reports from internal and external sources and disseminate key information within the team and to other departments as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant energy market news and share insights with the team and stakeholders while contributing to formulating ENGIE's view on trends in long-term commodity prices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field. You will bring forward your broad knowledge of long-term price modelling and energy market principles, including NEM or gas markets dispatch processes, generator behavior, network constraints, and power system operations, as well as long-term price drivers.

You will also have a keen interest in understanding energy market drivers and experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including project management. Data analytics proficiency, including SQL, Python, R, VBA, and PowerBI, will be advantageous.
