Job DescriptionThe Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Cadet Steward - Harness/Thoroughbred. This entry-level position provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of racing administration and stewardship.
- Hands-on Experience: Over an 18-month traineeship, immerse yourself in all aspects of racing administration and stewardship.
- Learning by Doing: Gain invaluable knowledge through questioning, observing, and actively participating in racing activities.
A day on the job will include:
- Learning all aspects and procedures in starting, clerk of scales, judging, and betting supervision.
- Carrying out administration duties as directed by the Chief Steward.
- Responding to telephone inquiries.
- Preparing for race meetings, including checking race forms, brands, and markings.
- Attending courses as designated and other code meetings when requested.
