Job Overview

A production machinery operator is required to manage in-feed and out-feed stockpiles, operate mobile plant and equipment, calibrate production machinery, inspect finished products, and prepare products for dispatch.

This role involves setting up cleaning and maintenance schedules to prevent problems, as well as undertaking product quality control. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs, with a good understanding of OH&S protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate mobile plant and equipment to manage in-feed and out-feed stockpiles
  • Operate production machinery, including calibrating equipment and monitoring gauges
  • Set up cleaning and maintenance schedules to prevent problems
  • Inspect finished products and undertake product quality control
  • Prepare products for dispatch
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology or similar qualification
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a mechanical technician in a related industry
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in animal husbandry, animal welfare, and legislation, dairy production, and OH&S
  • Knowledge in computer programs/software is an advantage
