Tax Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team based in North Sydney. This role involves ensuring accurate and compliant tax reporting through careful analysis and planning.

As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance and ensuring the company meets all tax obligations across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. You will prepare and/or review workbooks for various local tax compliance tasks and ensure that obligations are met by the deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Tax Reporting and Compliance: Oversee compliance and ensure the company meets all tax obligations across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore (including GST, FBT, BAS, income tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing).
  2. Preparation of Tax Workbooks: Prepare and/or review workbooks for various local tax compliance tasks, and ensure that obligations are met by the deadlines.
  3. Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis, consider and recommend options to meet company needs and enable informed decision-making.
  4. Policies and Procedures: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for taxation related matters.
  5. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders regarding taxation activities, such as external tax advisers, auditors, and tax authorities.
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Taxation Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of taxation with a minimum of 3 years tax experience in Australia.
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of GST and Withholding Tax, intermediate Excel skills, and effective communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Self-motivated individual who takes pride in the quality of work, ability to think analytically with a detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving, ownership-oriented style and approach, and experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating best practice policies, procedures, strategies, and initiatives.
