Railway Maintenance Technician Role Overview

This Railway Maintenance Technician role is an exciting opportunity to work with UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance business in Newcastle, NSW. The position involves performing scheduled service work, fault finding and troubleshooting tasks on locomotives at our Kooragang site.

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Licenced Tradesperson (Mechanical or Electrical) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, be reliable and punctual, and committed to a safe work environment and practices.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining locomotives to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Identifying and resolving faults using problem-solving skills
  • Working independently and as part of a team to achieve maintenance objectives

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a Certificate of Proficiency – Mechanical or Electrical, and have working experience in a maintenance environment. A Forklift license and Work cover overhead crane licence are desirable but not essential.
