Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to work in a variety of vibrant primary schools across Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates considering a career in teaching who wish to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive environment.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary), you will be working closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils in EYFS, KS1, or KS2.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the assessment of pupil progress through observation and feedback.
  • Support the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays.
  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold school values.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children (in any capacity) is highly desirable.
  • A degree (minimum 2:2) in any subject is essential – education-related degrees are desirable.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education or working with children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting learning.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
