Head of Research Computing

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Research Computing Services team. As the Head of Research Computing, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to enhance our research computing and data services, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our research community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a 5-year service roadmap to improve user experience and quality of research computing and data services
- Engaging with research communities and stakeholders to develop and implement policies, services, and projects that drive innovation in research computing and data infrastructure
- Overseeing the implementation of security policies for the Secure Research Environment, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 27001 certification
- Leading the delivery of evidence-based policies and strategies to support research computing and data services

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A postgraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
- Extensive knowledge of data management, storage, and cloud computing technologies
- Proven ability to successfully translate complex research IT-related challenges into solutions or services
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale research IT infrastructure and services
