Electrical Systems Engineer Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct professional engineering work on relevant aspects of EHV/HV Secondary Systems Strategic Planning and Conceptual Design including Protection, SCADA, Comms, Data Networks etc.
  • Provide detail design services on specialist engineering areas such as Protection Detailed Design, Primary Plant and Secondary Systems Equipment Specification and Procurement, Grid Metering, Power Quality and High Speed Monitoring Installations, Load flow, Fault level and dynamic studies and analysis, Engineering Network/Data Network Architecture and Configuration, Control System Detailed Design and Configuration, Communication Systems including Data Network and Bearer Network systems design, General AC & DC System Specification and Distribution Design, Power Generation detailed design and system integration etc.
  • Check design work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Offer technical support to Business Development, Tendering and Operations as required.
  • Assist with site commissioning.
About You
  • Hold an Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Have at least 3 years' experience in Design, integration & coordination, installation & commissioning of electrical systems and services for high voltage power systems.
  • Understand and have knowledge of secondary system design from basic concept development through to detailed design preferably Design-for-Construction environment, utility-based or engineering consultancy design experience.
  • Be skilled in computer software packages / equipment suppliers and products relevant to Power System Protection and Automation.
  • Continuously seek to improve performance, deliverables and work efficiencies.
  • Have a positive approach to safety.
  • Be able to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Develop excellent relationship building, problem solving, commercial and negotiation skills.
