Staff Specialist Cardiac Anaesthetist Opportunity

The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Health are seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Staff Specialist Cardiac Anaesthetist vacancy.

Applications are sought from Specialist Anaesthetists with subspecialty expertise in cardiac anaesthesia and a strong general clinical background, including experience in teaching and quality assurance in a public hospital setting. The successful applicant would be expected to participate in general anaesthetic clinical duties as well as cardiac anaesthesia.

  • Provide clinical services in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Services including diagnosis, treatment and care for patients within the Southern area, both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs.
  • Conduct research in the area of anaesthesia and perioperative care.
  • Participate in an out of hours On-Call Roster.
  • Actively pursue improvements in clinical support areas as allocated by the Director.
  • Participate in such Hospital committees and administrative matters as required by the Director - Department of Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicines.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Comply with all hospital bylaws and statutory regulations.
