Job Description

The Penetration Tester plays a critical role in protecting our IT systems, applications, and infrastructure by simulating real-world attacks to uncover weaknesses and vulnerabilities. This role is responsible for undertaking regular penetration testing of internal and external-facing applications/systems and IT infrastructure developed, implemented, updated, or maintained by us.

This role requires planning, coordination, execution, tracking, management, and reporting on application/system vulnerabilities and the implementation of approved mitigation processes/activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the entire pen testing and vulnerability management program aligned with risk appetite, and ISO27001, PCI DSS, and other compliance requirements.
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical vulnerabilities, providing advice, guidance, training, and awareness about good secure practices.
  • Own, follow-up, track, monitor, and report on all pen testing and vulnerability mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to the system development lifecycle through design, build, testing, and support phases, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities early in the lifecycle to save costs and reduce risks.
  • Regularly maintain, update, and communicate all relevant standards, processes, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

3+ years of experience operating as a pen tester with limited supervision.

Hold at least one of the following certifications: OSCP, CREST CCT, SANS GCPN, C|PEN, or similar.

Experience in security report writing and discussing reports with stakeholders to obtain their buy-in.

Good understanding and experience in utilizing CVSS standards, OWASP methodologies, and Metasploit tooling.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable qualifications include a cybersecurity degree or relevant tertiary cybersecurity qualification, related cybersecurity certifications, and awareness of information security standard requirements.

  • Experience with penetration testing tools and technologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
