Australia's leading medical research institute is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Assistant to join their team at the Australian Bioresources Pty Limited facility in Moss Vale.

Job Summary:

This full-time, permanent role will provide maintenance and repair services to support the smooth operation of the mouse breeding facility. The ideal candidate will have trade or trades-assistant experience and a strong commitment to animal welfare and care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out minor repairs as directed by the Building Manager to ensure the facility remains operational.
  • Assist in the maintenance of caging systems to maintain a safe and healthy environment for animals.
  • Deal with contractors on site to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Participate in an on-call roster for out-of-hours call-outs to address any issues that may arise.
  • Pack, manifest, and deliver mice as required, ensuring they are handled safely and efficiently.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • No formal qualifications are necessary for this role, but trade or trades-assistant experience would be highly regarded.
  • A general understanding of clean room facilities is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong commitment to animal welfare and care is crucial for this position.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach are essential for working effectively with colleagues and contractors.
