This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Child Development Counsellor. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based services that promote safety, wellbeing and development for children and their families.
The role involves working with children aged 0–12, providing trauma-informed counselling, assessment, case planning and therapeutic interventions. You will work within our Therapeutic Framework, ensuring high-quality services that support child development, healthy attachment, protective behaviours and life skills.
About the RoleThis is a full-time, permanent SCHADS Level 5 position based in Midland. As a Child Development Counsellor, you will be responsible for:
- Providing early intervention and family support to promote child development, healthy attachment and life skills.
- Conducting risk assessments and safety planning for clients affected by family and domestic violence.
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development or related field.
- At least 3 years' experience providing child counselling and working with families experiencing complex needs.
- Demonstrated experience in case management, intake, assessment and referral.
