Poultry Farm Worker Job Description

Job Overview:

This is a casual position available at an industry-leading poultry breeding company in Goulburn, NSW.

The role requires individuals who are physically fit and comfortable with labor-intensive duties.

  • Control pests and vermin to ensure a healthy working environment
  • Operate various types of farming equipment safely and efficiently
  • Prepare and clean sheds, equipment, and spread litter for new bird placement, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and biosecurity
  • Catch and hold birds, ensuring their welfare and comfort throughout the handling process
  • Dismantle and maintain farm equipment, machines, and buildings within farm confines
  • Collect, grade, and store eggs to meet the company's quality expectations
  • Perform vaccinations on birds as required, adhering to strict health and safety protocols
  • Conduct general maintenance tasks on poultry farm grounds, including cleaning and disinfecting facilities and equipment

Requirements:

  • Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions from supervisors and colleagues
  • Poultry experience is desired but not essential; training will be provided to ensure success in this role
  • No history of asthma or dust allergies
