Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient and newborn care to ensure the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Provide nursing care that is tailored to the individual's level of experience and education, maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Develop and utilize strategies that promote effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Work in partnership with patients and families to make informed decisions about care, promoting beneficial relationships and empowering patients to take an active role in their healthcare.
  • When required, work on other wards in the hospital to support the delivery of comprehensive patient care.

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Neonatal nursing experience in a Level 2 nursery setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care Nursery.
  • Working with Children check (if relevant).
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care and compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Neonatal nursing (or working towards).
