Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Clinical Projects team within the State of Victoria's Forensic Intervention Services as a Forensic Senior Clinician, Provisional Practice.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior clinician to provide clinical supervision and mentoring to a cohort of provisional psychologists. The successful candidate will have expertise in forensic psychology and be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and external providers.

About the Role

The Forensic Senior Clinician, Provisional Practice will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical supervision and mentoring to provisional psychologists. They will also provide consultancy and advice to internal and external stakeholders on clinical matters, particularly in relation to the management of service users.

The role will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have experience in IT systems and administrative tasks, as well as government systems and Microsoft Office suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to provisional psychologists.
  • Provide consultancy and advice to internal and external stakeholders on clinical matters.
  • Support the development of new interventions and programs.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of existing programs.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Psychology Board of Australia Board-approved supervisor status.
  • Minimum four years post-registration clinical experience in a forensic setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Psychology Board of Australia requirements for meeting core competencies required for general registration.
