The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our Maritime and Coastal team as a Hybrid Engineer. This role offers a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership responsibilities.

  • This position can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Devonport, or Launceston.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and collaborate with environmental and water-related disciplines to deliver projects.
  • Provide technical stewardship to the Maritime Structures Team.
  • Ensure the technical quality of deliverables through review.
  • Mentor and manage a small team of junior team members.
  • Lead technical management or project management of various engineering projects across the country.
  • Deliver coastal infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, condition assessments, and design of coastal structures.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients to expand our presence in the Maritime sector.
  • Conduct site visits as required.
What You Bring

We are looking for an experienced engineer with extensive technical expertise in maritime structures and ports. You should have a strong ability to draw on engineering foundations to resolve technical challenges and provide technical leadership to the Maritime and Coastal team.

  • Strong technical and numerical modeling skills to solve complex problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to translate discipline-specific engineering concepts into language that can be understood by clients and colleagues.
  • Experience with Strand7 and Spacegass or equivalent packages.
  • Experience with SwanOne, SWAN – GUI, DELFT3D, IH2VOF, XBEACH, or equivalent packages will be viewed favorably.
