Geotechnical Engineer - Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our technical services team. This role will provide geotechnical advice and support to ensure safe, productive, and compliant mining operations.

About the Role

This hands-on position will involve providing geotechnical input to day-to-day underground operations, hazard management plans, and strata control strategies. You will conduct inspections, audits, and monitoring to support ground control and compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with technical and operational teams to inform designs and manage risk.

You will interpret and analyze geotechnical data to guide decision-making and optimize mine safety and performance. Furthermore, you will support the continuous improvement of geotechnical systems, standards, and reporting.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical, Mining, or Civil Engineering.
  • Previous experience in an underground coal mining environment.
  • A strong understanding of ground control principles, strata monitoring, and geotechnical risk management.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across disciplines.
  • A proactive approach to safety, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
