We are seeking an experienced Testing & Commissioning Manager to lead, plan, and execute all testing and commissioning activities across major rail infrastructure projects.
This is a critical role where your expertise will directly contribute to safe, efficient, and high-performing rail systems.
You will oversee the on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of rail systems, ensuring full compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
You will also lead a team of skilled professionals, manage key project milestones, and ensure successful system integration before final handover.
About This Role- Oversight of the engineering design management process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions
- Collaboration with civil engineering contractors and subcontractors to ensure seamless project integration
- Development and maintenance of project schedules and documentation to maintain alignment with key milestones
- Procurement strategy development and documentation management
- Coordination with the Project Manager, Document Controller, and engineering teams to ensure compliance standards and deadlines are met
You will prepare and present reports for internal and external stakeholders, keeping everyone informed of progress.
The role requires the identification and tracking of weekly deliverables from the project schedule, effective communication of them to the project team in progress meetings, and regular updates on Scope of Work progress to ensure alignment with project objectives.
In addition, you will support the development of documentation for future project bids, contributing to business growth.
TIC Responsibilities- Comprehensive testing and commissioning plan development and implementation
- Maintenance of necessary documentation for testing and commissioning activities
- Optimization of resource allocation, both human and physical, to ensure smooth testing and commissioning processes
- Risk identification and mitigation related to safety, cost, schedule, quality, procurement, and staffing
- Collaboration with project management and construction teams to ensure site preparations are completed before testing and commissioning activities
- Regular reporting on testing and commissioning activity progress
To be successful in this role, you will have an engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience. Experience working as a Tester in Charge (TIC) within the rail industry is highly preferable.
A strong understanding of rail systems, signalling, and commissioning protocols, along with excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, is required.
Additionally, you should be willing to travel regularly to project sites.
