Store Attendant/ Seamsperson

Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
We are seeking a Store Service Attendant/ Seamsperson to join our team, working in partnership with the Australia Defence Force.
This role is based at Simpson Barracks, located near Yallambie, Melbourne.
As an essential member of our Clothing Store team, you will work alongside customer services, stores, and tailoring professionals to support Ventia's Defence National Clothing Store Services contract.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 38 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
The pay rate for this role is $27.75 per hour, plus Super.

Key Responsibilities:
- Customer service and over counter sales / handling uniforms
- Record keeping of customer orders
- Assist in measuring and fitting customers for clothing items.
- Assisting with duties of sewing ranks, insignia, and badges
- Assisting in sewing duties including hemming, alterations, and Medal mounting
- Use of computer systems
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Experience working in a Customer Service environment
- Basic sewing experience is preferred
- Any tailoring, hand stitching and sewing experience is desirable with further training provided
- Operating standard or heavy-duty sewing machines is desirable but not essential
- Computing skills and service systems
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
- Scheduling workloads and meeting deadlines
You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
