Laboratory Operations Leader

Leads daily operations of a coal testing laboratory with professionalism and precision, driving quality outcomes and guiding a dedicated team in a key site-based role. This opportunity involves taking charge and shaping the success of laboratory operations.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting in monitoring and managing compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  2. Reporting hazards, inspections, and safe act observations.
  3. Completing incident investigations related to the onsite laboratory to identify root causes and adjust work practices accordingly in a timely manner.
  4. Ensuring effective communication with all internal and external customers.
  5. Promoting a work environment free from discrimination, where everyone is included and treated with respect.
  6. Managing employee and staff leave.
  7. Completing all activities and reporting in accordance with the monthly reporting schedule.
  8. Implementing effective document control within the department.
  9. Maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, contractors, customers, suppliers, government agencies, neighbors, and the community.

Qualifications and Skills Include:

  • RII competencies for light vehicle and laboratory equipment S1,2&3 G2.
  • Previous experience operating onsite laboratories.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including basic spreadsheet skills.
  • Knowledge of writing and mathematical/analytical principles.
  • Proficient in all aspects of laboratory operations.
