Job Summary:

The nurse practitioner will take full responsibility for planning and delivering of nursing care to patients, making decisions regarding patient care and management, and assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.

This role requires an experienced and enthusiastic oncology nurse to join our team in Day Oncology and Infusion Services at St Vincent's Private Hospital campus. We have a part-time vacancy available for a professional with high levels of nursing skills and expertise.

We provide specialised care to oncology, haematology, rheumatology and gastroenterology patients. Our wonderful supportive caring team provides patients with many different infusions including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, iron infusions and blood transfusions. All our staff are chemotherapy competent and we follow best practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • High levels of nursing assessment, managing acute settings within a rapidly changing environment
  • Effective communication skills with patients, families and allied health professionals
  • Understanding cytotoxic regimens and their treatment plans
  • Administration of chemotherapy, orally and intravenously
  • Confidently applying CVAD management, and cannulation

The successful candidate will have current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, willingness to undertake further studies or pursue other self-development activities, proficiency in electronic communication, and positive team membership with dedication to excellent patient outcomes.
