Job Opportunity: Maintenance Fitters

MTC Recruitment is seeking expressions of interest from skilled Maintenance Fitters for opportunities in the greater Sydney metro area.

Key Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, plant & equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical issues will also be a key part of the role.
  • Ongoing inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, wiring, and controls will be required.
  • The individual must ensure that machinery and equipment is returned to service efficiently.
  • Working collaboratively with maintenance and production teams will be essential.
  • Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including repairs, installations, and inspections, is crucial.
  • Following safety-related policies and procedures, as well as adhering to company policies, is vital.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  • Dismantling, inspecting, and replacing defective parts, ensuring all machines are returned to service efficiently, is a key responsibility.
  • Collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability is essential.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, is critical.
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines, conducting risk assessments where necessary, is a key aspect of the role.
  • Monitoring machine performance and identifying opportunities for improvements in reliability and efficiency is a key responsibility.
Critical Skills and Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will hold relevant trade qualifications – Mechanical Fitter.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing environment, such as FMCG, Manufacturing or Rail, is essential.
  • Solid technical skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems are required.
  • Preventive maintenance experience is highly desirable.
  • A current Restricted Electrical License - Disconnect / Reconnect would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are essential.
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment is critical.
  • The capacity to identify opportunities for process improvement is essential.
About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our clients' team and contribute to the success of their operations.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
