Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laser Operator to join our team at West Coast Sheet Metal. As a key member of our Forrestdale laser operations cutting team, you will be responsible for operating the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery to produce high-quality sheet metal products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery to produce sheet metal products
  • Select and set up machine based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Pack items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor
  • Prepare product for shipment
  • Use hand and power tools for parts clean up
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, or using a forklift

Requirements:

  • Essential: Forklift license, or willingness to obtain one
  • Desirable: Experience operating a Fiber Laser Cutting machine
  • Ability to load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of equipment
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Must be highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable and willing to do overtime when required
  • Be physically fit
