Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SRA Supervisor to join our dynamic and enthusiastic team at Healius. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our pathology laboratory by undertaking the following responsibilities:

  • Conducting both manual and automated diagnostic evaluations.
  • Overseeing all standard procedures from the moment specimens are received to the final execution of results for pathological assessments, including specimen dissection.
  • Assisting in the management of inventory and supplies.
  • Ensuring compliance with record-keeping and result documentation according to established protocols.
  • Maintaining and operating laboratory equipment in accordance with set guidelines.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest scientific advancements.
  • Engaging in routine and audit-related Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Contributing to ongoing improvements and the development of new testing methods as needed.
  • Participating in the training and development of laboratory staff.
  • Communicating with both internal and external stakeholders regarding test outcomes or referrals as necessary.
  • Adhering to organizational policies, workplace health and safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.

Candidate Profile

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience and expertise in the relevant field.
  • Background in a pathology laboratory setting.
  • Experience supervising laboratory assistants in their daily tasks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality control, quality assurance processes, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Capability to resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement quality and service enhancement initiatives in line with NATA/ISO standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to quality and excellence in service delivery.
  • Willingness to comply with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • A positive attitude towards achieving results and being an integral team player.
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
