Job Overview

As a mental health inpatient unit nurse, you will play a key role in enhancing the journey to recovery for clients and their families. The position involves coordinating and delivering high-quality nursing care to patients/clients consistent with SESLHD and Sutherland Mental Health Service policies, procedures, and standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health and a passion for working as part of a dynamic and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team. They will possess strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to consumer-, family- and carer-focused care.


Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care to patients/clients in the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Participate in regular meetings and professional development activities to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Experience delivering high-quality patient care in mental health at a postgraduate level.
  • Ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others.
