Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to lead our Australia Sector supply chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing allocated indirect spend categories and contributing to key programs related to this strategically important sector.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category management strategies across IT, facilities, legal, finance, fleet and other allocated categories.
  • Assist stakeholders in supply chain and procurement activities including cost optimisation, purchasing, forecasting and risk management.
  • Contribute knowledge of supplier markets to improve competitive advantage and service outcomes.
  • Support the delivery of the Australia Sector supply chain roadmap to ensure alignment with business processes, systems and policy.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify, qualify and manage suppliers for tactical and strategic purchasing.
  • Maintain awareness of compliance requirements for suppliers in a Defence environment.
  • Implement a supply chain that supports business strategies, adapts to market changes and cost optimisation needs.
Requirements
  • A degree in a business or engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience in procurement, category management or supply chain.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to business or project procurement activities.
  • Experience with procurement and supply chain models within ERP systems.
  • Exposure to integration and transformation programs desirable.
  • Experience in a regulated environment ideally defence or ISO regulated.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management, procurement and supplier engagement practices.
  • Ability to support process and system improvements in solution design and commercial outcomes.
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations advantageous.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to address challenges that impact projects and functional delivery.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • A results orientated, organised and delivery focused approach.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance is advantageous.
