">About the RoleThis challenging yet rewarding role involves collecting blood samples from patients in various wards, including paediatrics, medical, ICU, CCU, emergency, oncology, special care nursery, maternity, and rehabilitation. You will need to use your expertise and empathy to deliver excellent customer service and quality healthcare, liaising with doctors, nurses, and patients to understand their needs and requirements.
">Your Key Responsibilities- Liaise and build effective relationships with doctors, nurses, and patients within the hospital
- Collect blood and non-blood samples across wards, including difficult bleeds and AGBs, with care and attention
- Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector or Registered Nurse looking to diversify and grow your career. You should be a great communicator and relationship builder, professional, and proactive in your approach to working with hospital stakeholders. Ideally, you will possess:
">- A demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy ideally with a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a nursing background
- Excellent liaison and communication skills, with a high level of empathy & a patient-centred approach
- You are organized, with high attention to detail
- You hold a Working with Children's Check or are willing to obtain one
- You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
- Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
- Other vaccinations based on location may be required / setting
