Job Opportunity: Experienced Horse Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced horse trainer to join our team.

  • Key requirements include:

Essential skills and qualifications for this role are:

  • Minimum 3 years full-time professional experience in horse training and management
  • Excellent horsemanship skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently

The successful candidate will be responsible for riding, training, and educating young and older horses.

They will also need to communicate effectively with staff and owners through oral and written means.

Additionally, they must have the ability to work safely around horses, handling equipment relevant to their care and maintenance.

Our ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of health and safety protocols, as well as thoroughbred racing methods.

Some key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods - thoroughbred racing
  • Proven ability to ride/train and educate young and older horses
  • Oral and written communication skills to take instruction and provide information to other staff and owners
  • Ability to work in a team and independently, or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses on riding pace/timed work and jump outs
  • Able to educate our young horses on the ground, plus vet; swimming and barrier education
