Security Strategist Lead

A Prominent Cyber Security Role

This position presents a high-level opportunity to spearhead and manage a skilled and diverse threat hunting team.

The team is responsible for actively discovering and disrupting adversarial operations that have evaded standard security controls, operationalising the gathered intelligence to enhance the organisation's cyber resiliency.

The successful candidate will lead a high-performing threat hunting team effectively contributing to the detection and response function's capability to identify and respond to cyber-attacks.

The role involves co-ordinating the team's workload to maintain and execute a prioritised backlog of hypotheses aligned to threat intelligence, ensuring timely dissemination of intelligence and tracking remediation progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a highly effective threat hunting team to drive the identification and response to cyber-attacks.
  • Oversee the process of findings management to ensure seamless intelligence dissemination and efficient remediation tracking.
  • Develop and execute hypothesis-based hunts, contributing to the team's operational targets and key result areas.
  • Mentor and support the development of the threat hunt team to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, APT groups, and attack vectors.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a Threat Hunt team or similar roles in Incident Response, SOC, or other defensive/offensive disciplines.
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience of investigating real-world cyber-attacks in various environments (on-premises and cloud).
  • Familiarity with offensive security principles, hacking techniques, and AI/automation as it can be used to accelerate/enrich threat hunting.
  • Understanding of the threat intelligence cycle and OSINT techniques.
