Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a highly skilled and experienced education professional to join our team as a Leading Teacher - Inclusive Practice Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the implementation of inclusive practices across the school, promoting a culture of high expectations and aspirations for all students, and building the capacity of school staff to support students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Inclusive Practices
    • Develop and implement strategies to promote inclusive practices across the school, including the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the provision of targeted support for students with diverse needs.
    • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to identify and address barriers to learning and to develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse needs.
  • Build Staff Capacity
    • Provide professional development and coaching to teachers and other school staff to build their capacity to support students with diverse needs.
    • Develop and implement a professional learning program to support teachers in developing their skills and knowledge in inclusive practices.
  • Advocate for Student Voice and Agency
    • Work with students, parents, and school staff to identify and address the needs of students with diverse needs.
    • Advocate for student voice and agency in decision-making processes related to inclusive practices.
  • Lead the Wellbeing Team
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the wellbeing team to ensure that students receive high-quality support and services.
    • Develop and implement strategies to promote student wellbeing and mental health.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
    • Experience in leading and managing inclusive practices in a school setting.
    • Experience in providing professional development and coaching to teachers and other school staff.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of inclusive practices and strategies to support students with diverse needs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
