Embedded Software Test Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Test Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our embedded software products.

  • Avive Solutions is a growth-stage company specializing in Automated External Defibrillator (AED) technology with a connected response system.
  • We address the leading cause of death in the United States – Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) – by innovating AED technology and software platforms for quicker and more streamlined responses to emergencies.

This role requires an expert in testing embedded software from early design stages through commercialization, ensuring all products meet internal, regulatory, and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Create test plans and execute verification tests based on software requirements
  • Triage defects, log reproduction steps, participate in impact analysis, and recommend solutions
  • Automate test steps using pytest
  • Participate in system end-to-end integration testing between internal and external systems
  • Develop and deliver software project documentation
  • Implement unit and system level tests
  • Maintain focus on delivering high-quality products to customers
Required Skills & Experience:
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years in a software test position for embedded systems
  • Experience with Python, C/C++, ARM CPUs, Embedded Linux, and electronics
  • Proficiency in IDEs, Linux, Windows, Mac OS, Git, and defect tracking in Jira
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
