Overview of the Role

We are seeking a diligent Cleanliness Specialist to join our team at Ingenia Communities in Townsville QLD.

About the Job

This is a casual role with potential for additional hours during peak periods. As a Cleanliness Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of our community's common areas.

  • Ensure all appliances are clean and in working order.
  • Ensure all common areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.
  • Check for and remove any rubbish; empty bins if required.
  • Attend to emergencies and escalate to management if required.
  • Sweep, bleach, scrub, and mop the floors of common areas.
  • Wipe and clean all benches and tables.
  • Empty bins and clean bins as necessary.
  • Restock hand towels, tea towels, scourers, and washing liquid.
  • Clean all toilets and toilet facilities, including restocking amenities, cleaning mirrors, and floors.
  • Clean shower cubicles in amenities facilities daily.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Practical experience or work history in a cleaning role.
  • A well-organised approach and a strong eye for detail.
  • A current C-class driver’s licence (site-dependent).
  • The willingness to obtain a First Aid certificate.
  • The willingness to obtain a National Working with Children check.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all departments.
  • The ability to make decisions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Confidence and the ability to raise concerns to management or another department.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Physical Requirements

This role involves:

  • Frequent lifting of rubbish bins, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Use of site buggies.
  • Use of brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Repetitive use of muscular force, bending, twisting, and stretching when carrying out cleaning tasks.
  • Frequent walking around the site.
  • Use of cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Use of PPE such as rubber gloves and face masks.
Estimated Salary

Roughly $22-$28 per hour based on industry standards and location.
