Executive Pastry Chef

At EQ Bakehouse, you will work closely with our kitchen leadership team to ensure the quality and consistency of our menu offerings. We are currently hiring for several full-time and part-time kitchen roles due to changes in our team availability. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to creating a positive and collaborative environment in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a diverse menu of pastries, cakes, bread, and baked goods aligned with EQ Bakehouse's brand.
- Estimate food and labor costs to ensure profitability and optimal pricing.
- Manage procurement of quality ingredients and supplies cost-effectively.
- Oversee quality and presentation, ensuring products meet high standards.
- Collaborate with the team to improve processes and maintain consistency.
- Provide training on baking techniques and culinary practices.
- Lead baking operations, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
- Enforce hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Supervise and manage the bakery team, offering support and training.
- Implement methods for product preservation to reduce waste and maintain quality.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Diploma in Hospitality Management
- Minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a Chef in a cafe, restaurant, or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Proven ability to prepare a variety of dishes, including baked goods, breakfast, and lunch items
- Experience in menu planning and development, ensuring a high-quality and creative selection of dishes
- Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, including stock control and food preparation
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply
Candidates must be able to work on public holidays and sometimes on weekends when required.
