At EQ Bakehouse, you will work closely with our kitchen leadership team to ensure the quality and consistency of our menu offerings. We are currently hiring for several full-time and part-time kitchen roles due to changes in our team availability. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to creating a positive and collaborative environment in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a diverse menu of pastries, cakes, bread, and baked goods aligned with EQ Bakehouse's brand.
  • Estimate food and labor costs to ensure profitability and optimal pricing.
  • Manage procurement of quality ingredients and supplies cost-effectively.
  • Oversee quality and presentation, ensuring products meet high standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve processes and maintain consistency.
  • Provide training on baking techniques and culinary practices.
  • Lead baking operations, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Enforce hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Supervise and manage the bakery team, offering support and training.
  • Implement methods for product preservation to reduce waste and maintain quality.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery/Diploma in Hospitality Management
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a Chef in a cafe, restaurant, or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Proven ability to prepare a variety of dishes, including baked goods, breakfast, and lunch items
  • Experience in menu planning and development, ensuring a high-quality and creative selection of dishes
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, including stock control and food preparation
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities
  • Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply

Candidates must be able to work on public holidays and sometimes on weekends when required.
