Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate nursing care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and maintain current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth and contribute to the development of our emergency nursing practice.
- Communicate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, relatives, and visitors, while displaying a high level of professional nursing care.
- Respond appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of patients using comprehensive nursing assessment and intervention skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient ED journey, with a focus on continuum of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our emergency nursing practice.
The Mater Hospital Brisbane Emergency Department is a 24-hour comprehensive emergency service for public adult patients, seeing approximately 50,000 patients per year. The department provides care to patients over the age of 16, with acute illness and injuries, including medical, surgical, oncology, orthopedic, and gynecological emergencies. Care is provided by a large multidisciplinary team of emergency doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
