About the Opportunity

Lithgow City Council is seeking a skilled Casual Labourer to join their team in Lithgow, NSW. As a Casual Labourer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and environmental standards of the Council's waste facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide casual labour at Council's waste facilities to prevent insanitary or environmentally hazardous conditions.
  • Ensure safety, environmental, public access, and amenity standards are maintained for all rural landfill and transfer station sites, including litter collection.
  • Work unsupervised and as part of a team to achieve the Council's objectives.
Requirements
  • Understanding of environmental issues and the role that a waste facility holds within the community.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality customer service and Work Health and Safety & Risk Management Responsibilities.
  • Commitment to honesty and integrity.
  • Sense of civic pride and environmental responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in waste management and materials handling.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • WH&S Induction for Construction Works Certificate (Whitecard).
  • Asbestos Awareness Training.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training.
