About the Role:
The Design Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting our Design Manager by coordinating various aspects of the design process. This role involves managing project timelines, assisting with design coordination, providing administrative support, and ensuring quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Assist with the coordination of project requests from initiation through completion, monitor timelines, and ensure deadlines are met with quality and consistency.
- Design Coordination: Support the Design Manager with project program monitoring, documentation review, tender processes, and coordination with suppliers and authorities.
- Administrative Support: Prepare and maintain documentation, attend meetings, minute design discussions, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct checks on deliverables to ensure they meet company and client standards, and suggest improvements as needed.
- Teamwork: Facilitate effective communication within the team, support the Design Manager, and foster a positive working environment.
- WHS Compliance: Adhere to safety rules and company policies, report incidents, and ensure a safe working environment.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the construction industry, preferably in commercial fit-out and refurbishment.
- Relevant qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or Construction.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., InDesign, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Suite.
- Strong organisational, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.
- Experience in client service roles and familiarity with Procore is desirable.
