Human Resource Role


This is an exciting opportunity for a recent HR graduate or a soon-to-be graduate to launch their career in local government. You'll be working with a supportive team and will have a chance to contribute meaningfully to HR operations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the development and review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring the HR inbox and managing inquiries or escalating as necessary.
  • Providing basic HR advice to staff and leadership.
  • Ensuring HR documentation complies with legal, confidentiality, and compliance standards.
  • Supporting workforce planning efforts alongside the HR team.


About the Opportunity

This is an excellent role for someone who wants to gain experience in HR operations and contribute to the success of the local government team. You'll have the opportunity to work with a close-knit community where history and adventure meet.



About You

  • Tertiary qualification (or soon-to-be qualified) in Human Resource Management.
  • Current QLD Class C Driver's License.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex situations with empathy and discretion.
  • Demonstrated experience (including internships or projects) in policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with the ability to influence and negotiate effective outcomes.
