Financial Systems Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Systems Support Specialist to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support for finance systems ensuring seamless operations and minimizing downtime
  • Act as first-line support for user queries and technical issues resolving problems efficiently
  • Maintain system configurations, master data and centrally managed tables to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure data integrity and monitor daily system runs, interfaces and reconciliations to identify potential issues early on
  • Analyse and resolve complex issues in dealer portals, transit accounts and legacy systems with ease

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by providing timely and accurate financial reports and dashboards
  • Generate and support financial reports, dashboards and audit data ensuring SOX compliance
  • Provide documentation for internal/external audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Align systems with accounting policies, statutory and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance

Projects & Improvements:

  • Identify system gaps and propose enhancements in collaboration with ICT to improve system efficiency
  • Document and validate business requirements for changes and upgrades ensuring smooth implementation
  • Coordinate system testing and share solutions with users post-implementation
  • Participate in finance projects, data migrations and process automation initiatives
  • Work with finance, operations and IT teams to enhance productivity and accuracy
  • Maintain user access controls and support segregation of duties reviews to ensure security
  • Document workflows and create training materials for end-users
  • Deliver awareness sessions and ongoing user support to ensure successful adoption

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance systems support or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, FIS AF
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles
  • Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Qlik, Excel) and knowledge of financial compliance standards (e.g., SOX, IFRS, GAAP) is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a critical mindset
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and focused on accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
  • Proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
