About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications and Engagement Advisor to join our team at Latrobe City Council.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective communication strategies and engage with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to promote the Council's brand and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including media, community groups, and government agencies.
  • Design and deliver engaging communication materials, including reports, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Provide advice and support to Council staff on communication and engagement matters.
  • Monitor and analyze communication trends and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communication and stakeholder engagement, preferably in a local government or similar environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
