Financial Controller Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Ibis Mackay. This role reports to the General Manager and is responsible for providing full financial and accounting support for the hotel.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the overall budgeting, planning, and forecasting of the hotel, including the analysis and reporting of monthly and yearly results. This will involve collaborating closely with the leadership team to gather essential data for long-term, annual, quarterly, and monthly budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes for the hotel.
  • Train, develop, and manage the Finance team to ensure compliance, accuracy, and financial integrity at all levels.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to gather essential data for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Report to owners on a quarterly basis, providing results, forecasts, and P&L.
  • Monitor financial performance against forecasts and budgets, analyze variances, and evaluate key performance indicators.
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly reviews with the Hotel leadership team, providing guidance and direction on cost control and revenue generation.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the Hospitality industry.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
