Role Overview

UMENCO is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the creation of seasonal RTW collections for a renowned Australian brand.

This leadership role will guide the fit development process, from initial design concepts to pre-production samples, ensuring each range meets the brand's high standards for aesthetics, quality, and cost while adhering to seasonal timelines.

The Product Development Manager will be accountable for ensuring all developments comply with the brand's traceability strategy and legal safety requirements, while maintaining exceptional value and quality in garment construction.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with the wholesale and production teams, facilitating the smooth handover of new styles, and supporting the production team in making technical decisions regarding fit and construction.

Effective communication with marketing and e-commerce teams is also essential, as well as monitoring supplier performance and identifying areas for continuous improvement.

To thrive in this fast-paced environment, the successful candidate should have over five years of experience in apparel product development, with a strong background in fashion design or technical qualifications.

Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit are essential for building strong relationships with the brand's apparel suppliers.

A solid understanding of fabric construction, garment fitting, and safety requirements is also necessary.
