Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and support on commercial matters, including contract negotiation and risk management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
- Support business units with legal insights on commercial transactions and other business initiatives.
- Assist with dispute resolution and litigation matters, working closely with external legal counsel when required.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the business and advise on necessary adaptations.
- Contribute to business strategy by aligning legal objectives with broader commercial goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Current legal practicing certificate and registration in Australia (Western Australia preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in commercial law, with a strong understanding of construction law.
- Experience in negotiating complex commercial agreements and managing contractual risks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide strategic legal advice that aligns with business objectives.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations in Western Australia (e.g., mining, energy, construction) is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
