About the Role

The Finance Services group plays a critical role in the effective and sustainable management of the Monash Business School's financial position, and partners with organisational units within the School to oversee and support the development of strong and consistent financial management capability. The Finance Services group is the key interface and link with the University's central finance and resource management teams, and includes staff with specialist skills in management accounting, revenue and expenditure reporting, financial modelling and analysis.

The Opportunity

The Monash Business School Finance Services team is seeking a high performing and enthusiastic business partnering-focused individual for the role of Senior Finance Business Partner to assist with a range of quality financial management services. The Senior Finance Business Partner reports into the Reporting and Analysis Manager and oversees a team of two staff members. The role works as a key member of the Finance Services team and is primarily responsible for budgeting, planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored financial services designed to improve financial capability
  • Implement and maintain financial controls
  • Address financial management issues and support the achievement of the business' goals
  • Work with a team of service-oriented finance staff to achieve desired outcomes

Requirements

  • A relevant post-graduate qualification or progress towards post-graduate qualifications with current CA/CPA accreditation
  • Demonstrated staff management and development experience
  • Demonstrated capabilities in strategic budget & forecast development and reporting, process improvement, contract management, project costing, quality control, financial analysis and monitoring, within a complex environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management, business partnering and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, research and problem-solving skills to achieve desired outcomes
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work autonomously and cooperatively in a team
  • Proven ability to apply accounting standards and financial policies in a complex organisation
