About the Role

The APS 6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer will be responsible for performing complex logistics policy work within an integrated workforce. This role requires a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise workflow and make independent decisions relating to area of responsibility.
  • Interpret and provide advice within the Logistics Management function area based on legislation, policy, and procedures.
  • Undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct assessment, and perform procedural and clerical support work to achieve results.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent with a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.
  • Set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance.
  • Review and develop the quality of work undertaken by others and identify opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond, and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
  • Contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

About Our Team

The APS 6 Logistics Policy and Doctrine Officer will lead a small team undertaking work on the Electronic Supply Chain Manual, specifically those areas relating to Inventory Management, Stocktaking, and Warehousing.

Strong team collaboration and communication skills are desirable for this role as there will be regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders when resolving Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS) user issues, followed by generating, implementing, and sustaining appropriate and robust procedural guidance as well as providing input to future state processes for the implementation of ERP.
