Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of State's Passport Agency, responsible for supervising a team of Passport Specialists. The incumbent will oversee the acceptance and adjudication of passport applications and authorization of issuance to qualified American citizens and nationals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of Passport Specialists to ensure efficient and accurate processing of passport applications.
  • Develop and implement training plans and programs for agency staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Review, investigate, and adjudicate problematic and potentially fraudulent applications to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assign, review, and supervise the work of others to ensure high-quality results.
  • Exercise objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability and situations on the facts and circumstances.
  • Adjust to change, work pressures, or difficult situations without undue stress.
  • Consider new ideas or divergent points of view and demonstrate a willingness to adapt.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard and that the job is seen through to completion.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
  • Qualifying specialized experience may have been gained in work such as developing, examining, investigating, adjudicating, or authorizing claims arising under the immigration and/or nationality laws of the United States.
  • Experience must demonstrate the ability to assign, review, and supervise the work of others, as well as exercise objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability and situations on the facts and circumstances.
