Job RequirementsWe are seeking a strong general commercial lawyer with 5+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have general commercial contracting experience and exposure to a wide range of industries, including financial services, consumer, food, and retail, energy, and resources, government, and public sector, construction, and infrastructure, education, hotels, leisure, and gaming, mining, TMT, and transport.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including property, technology, privacy, and data, intellectual property, credit, and financing. M&A experience, particularly involvement in the integration of new companies/businesses into existing corporate structures, as well as joint venture experience, is highly sought after. Procurement experience is also highly valued.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing legal advice relating to competition and consumer law, privacy, product safety, quality, and labelling. Experience in disputes and investigations, including litigation, disputes, insolvency/debt recovery, and regulatory investigations, is also an advantage. Knowledge of employment law is also beneficial.
The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships externally and internally. They will also have strong commercial and business acumen, an excellent client service focus, ethic, and commitment. The right to live and work in Australia and hold or be able to obtain a current practicing certificate is also required.
