Lead Finance Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Finance Manager to join our Energy and Utilities team. This is a key leadership role where you will manage and develop a high-performing finance team, drive financial strategy and performance, and ensure effective controls are in place across a large, complex portfolio.

As a Lead Finance Manager, you will be responsible for partnering with General Managers and operational teams to establish strategic plans and deliver financial outcomes. You will lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering capability, cross-skilling, and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with General Managers and operational teams to establish strategic plans and deliver financial outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering capability, cross-skilling, and career progression.
  • Drive financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and controls, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Support distressed projects, providing strong financial oversight and recovery support.
  • Work closely with the Growth team to ensure that bids meet relevant financial criteria and that the feedback loop operates effectively.
  • Oversee governance framework as a key part of business risk management.
  • Provide meaningful forward-looking financial insights that drive decision making.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce (CPA/CA required) and 10+ years' experience in financial/project accounting within large, complex organisations.

You will also need to have strong leadership capability with a track record of developing high-performing teams, deep understanding of long-term contracts and commercial complexities, strong stakeholder management skills, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills and significant exposure to ERP systems.
