The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic School Psychologist to join our team. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning, behaviour, and wellbeing of students with disability across Western Australia.
This role requires you to provide expert psychological consultation to schools, working within a consultative model to support complex case conceptualisation, strengthen school capability, and contribute to strategic responses. You will help develop shared understandings of student needs and support evidence-informed practice through a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework.
You will work closely with Consulting Teachers, school teams, and system leaders to ensure that SSEN:D services align with and enhance existing supports. This position requires well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, as well as expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary practice in supporting students with disability.
As a School Psychologist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert psychological consultation to schools to support the learning, behaviour, and wellbeing of students with disability;
- Working within a consultative model to support complex case conceptualisation, strengthen school capability, and contribute to strategic responses;
- Developing shared understandings of student needs and supporting evidence-informed practice through a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework;
- Collaborating with Consulting Teachers, school teams, and system leaders to ensure that SSEN:D services align with and enhance existing supports.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia;
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment;
- A current and valid 'C' class driver's license (or equivalent);
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary practice in supporting students with disability.
The successful applicant will be required to move between locations, predominately based at the Statewide Services Centre. The role may occasionally involve state-wide travel with some overnight stays and may include long-distance driving, some of which may be in remote locations.

Eligibility">To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia;
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment;
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start;
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
